Acadia has a long history of engagement with its surrounding business community.  This engagement includes a wide range of activities:  innovative research projects involving our faculty, students and industry partner, development and delivery of entrepreneurial programs and services; student placements and internships; customized training and professional development opportunities; and hosting of business related meetings, conference and events on the Acadia campus.

Discussing research collaborations and other outreach activities with Acadia?

Visit the Office of Industry & Community Engagement (ICE)[nbsp](Email: leigh.huestis@acadiau.ca, Phone: (902) 585-1425). The mandate of this office (formerly the Office of Technology Transfer and Innovation) is to connect Acadia's expertise, facilities, and technologies with industry and community groups. ICE's goal is to contribute to the development and prosperity of local and regional communities, through outreach, research, and commercialization activities.

Discussing ways to explore and develop a business idea, or to grow and improve your current business or organization?

Visit the Acadia Centre for Social Business & Entrepreneurship (ACSBE) (Phone:  1-866-654-4499 or (902) 585-1180).  ACSBE helps individuals and businesses fulfil their entrepreneurial potential.  They can help with business plans, market research, financial analysis, growth strategies, strategic planning, goal setting, specialized career development programs, professional certification, customized workshops and training.

Reserving a facility at Acadia for a meeting, seminar, conference, or convention?

Contact Events & Hospitality (Email: reservations@acadiau.ca, Phone: (902) 585-2665). This unit acts as a central booking facility for most university facilities, including classrooms, the Acadia Arena, the K.C. Irving Environmental Science facilities, University Hall (exceptions include the Chapel and Student Union Building facilities). If you require catering for your event, the staff at Events & Hospitality will direct you to the appropriate personnel at Chartwells for this service.

Open Acadia (formerly the Division of Continuing & Distance Education) offers a slate of programs for professionals.  They also offer customized programs that can be delivered in ways that match the preferences of client groups, whether it be on-campus, off-campus, or online.
